Very Tough to Beat

Even though Hillary Clinton has not announced her 2016 presidential run, I guarantee she will. If and when this does happen, I believe Hillary will be very tough to beat. I don't believe the dark cloud over her head called "Benghazi" will be enough to derail her momentum. Hillary Clinton is the former first lady, former Secretary of State and a former New York Senator, she has connections, influence, and political experience. She already has the support of major liberal groups who have started fundraising for her. Hillary has a solid resume, but like President Obama, she doesn't hold any accomplishments that merit a Presidency. Unfortunately this makes no difference to the emotional voter. She will get millions of votes just for being a woman.
It will not make a difference what she believes in or what she brings to the table. Having a woman elected as president will be a monumental occasion, but let's be honest, that will be her only selling point. Most Americans don't know or don't care that she left four Americans to die in Benghazi Libya in 2012, or that she wrote her senior thesis on a prominent, self described communist. A Plan for America. She will be the one to continue transforming America after President Obama.

If Hillary is elected President of the United States, there will be three guarantees, more spending, more debt and more government. I'm not opposed to a women president, just Hillary. In fact there are 49 countries that have had a woman leader, we will probably be number 50. Lets be honest, in 2008 Barrack Obama won the presidency because of his nice smile, enchanting speeches and because he was (half) black. Not only was he black but he was the first black man to ever be endorsed by a major party in the United States of America. This was an historic election, young people came out in droves and there was a record turnout in voters. Barrack Obama was someone different, he promised "Hope & Change". I did not vote for him but I understand why people did. We are headed full force into the identical scenario with Hillary Clinton. We have become a nation of emotional voters, we will vote to be part of a historic moment if nothing else. I hate to admit it, but in my opinion there are no other candidates currently on the horizon from any party that will challenge Hillary Clinton in 2016 - BDB

A Radical Concept

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was an American pastor, leader, humanitarian and activist in the African-American Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s. He is best known for his advancement of civil rights using nonviolent civil disobedience based on his Christian beliefs. It was such a radical idea at the time and yet it had been on the Declaration of Independence for 200 years. The Idea that every man was created equal, this was the concept at the heart of everything Dr. King said and did. The United States Constitution says "We the People", that means all people, all colors and races. Dr. King was a very intelligent man and he was well aware of how the world worked. He maintained a policy of not publicly endorsing a U.S. political party or candidate: "I feel someone must remain in the position of non-alignment, so that he can look objectively at both parties and be the conscience of both—not the servant or master of either." In a 1958 interview, he expressed his view that neither party was perfect, saying, "I don't think the Republican party is a party full of the almighty God nor is the Democratic party. They both have weaknesses ... And I'm not inextricably bound to either" Dr. King was undoubtedly best known for his 17-minute long speech, later known as "I Have a Dream". The speech was delivered in 1963 in Washington DC. Dr. King also opposed the Vietnam War and connected the war with economic injustice, arguing that the country needed serious moral change. Dr. King's fight for justice and equality was a difficult one and his hard work came with a cost, he was often the target of rumors, assaults, FBI scrutiny and hatred. His civil rights efforts would eventually cost him his life. On April 4, 1968 he was shot in the head at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis Tennessee. After emergency chest surgery, King was pronounced dead at St. Joseph's Hospital. According to biographer Taylor Branch, King's autopsy revealed that though only 39 years old, he "had the heart of a 60 year old", which Branch attributed to the stress of 13 years in the civil rights movement. In the words of President Jimmy Carter ..." He made our nation stronger because he made it better. His dream sustains us yet."- BDB

The Blame Game

The only things we know about Benghazi: there were too many people involved, too many motivations for the attack, too many conflicting stories after the attack, and too little indisputable evidence about the exact course of events. Sept 11th 2012, the American embassy and CIA annex building in Benghazi Libya were invaded in a planned attack against America. It is the job of the Secretary of State and the State Department to manage the country's foreign affairs, including protecting our diplomats. At the time the Secretary of State was Hillary Clinton who was appointed by President Obama. On the anniversary of Sept 11th one would think that America would have been on guard and ready for any such attacks. State Department employees at the Benghazi compound knew they were in a death trap and reportedly asked for help many times, help that never came. Instead four Americans were killed including Ambassador Christopher Stevens. For three weeks after the incident the Obama Administration lied about the attack, and instead blamed the attack on an anti Muslim, YouTube video that was circulating the Internet. The video called "Innocence of Muslims" was a parody about the religion Islam's founder and prophet Muhammad. This video was publicly blamed obviously to shield the President and his cabinet members from criticism of protecting the Embassy. So why did the Obama Administration lie about the attack to the public? 16 months later we continue to hear bits of information and rumors. At this time we were weeks away from the re-election of President Obama, and Benghazi would have only highlighted his growing incompetence. We don't actually expect politicians to be honest around election time do we? There is much more to this story than meets the eye. If all of this wasn't bad enough, it turns out the CIA had operatives on the ground in Benghazi that night. Since Jan 2013, some CIA operatives involved in the agency's missions in Libya  have been subjected to frequent, even monthly polygraph examinations, according to a source with deep inside knowledge of the agency's working. It is being described as pure intimidation, with the threat that any unauthorized CIA employee who leaks information could face the end of his or her careers. Whatever the truth is, I guarantee the American people and the victums families will not rest until we get to the bottom it.-BDB

Remember Rwanda

What was worse, the genocide itself or America doing nothing about it? In 1994 Bill Clinton was president of the United States, the same year a brutal civil war in the country of Rwanda broke out. Rwanda’s population of seven million was composed of three ethnic groups: Hutu (approximately 85%), Tutsi (14%) and Twa (1%) On April 6, 1994, a plane carrying President Habyarimana, a Hutu, was shot down. Violence began almost immediately after that. Under the cover of war, Hutu extremists launched their plans to destroy the entire Tutsi civilian population. Over the course of approximately 100 days, 800,000 men, women, and children perished in the Rwandan genocide, perhaps as many as three quarters of the Tutsi population. At the same time, thousands of Hutu were murdered because they opposed the killing campaign and the forces directing it. The Clinton Administration ignored powerful warnings of impending genocide, including a Central Intelligence Agency study saying half a million people could die if Rwanda exploded. The Clinton Administration opposed a move by the United Nations to stop the killing. The United Nations had to learn ''when to say no,'' President Clinton said at the time. So why is it so important to remember Rwanda? Because, apparently President Obama doesn't. Why do I say this? Because if he did, he wouldn't be allowing the same thing to take place. This time the genocide is against Christians, and it is happening all over the world everyday. The United States is well aware of the Christian persecution going on and chooses to do nothing. Christians are killed and churches are burned in Egypt; while Christians are either killed or systematically driven out of the country in Syria; and in Turkey Christian identity cards have a special code that prohibits Christians from taking certain jobs or getting certain benefits. There are trials going on now in Iran of Christians. In Iraq, seventy Christian churches have been blown up, and its Christian population has been all but driven out of the country. The persecution has spread to Africa where churches are attacked on a regular basis Northern Sudan is currently waging a crackdown against the remaining Christians there. Muslims are destroying Christian churches that have been established for hundreds if not thousands of years. This is just the tip of the iceberg. The United States looks back on this as a huge mistake, we were in a position to greatly reduce the killing in Rwanda, and we did nothing. With out a doubt, President Obama knows the plight of the Christians, he is either purposely allowing it or he doesn't care. Both conclusions are very troubling. Remember Rwanda Mr. President, because we haven't forgotten! - BDB

It's Guaranteed

As the old saying goes, death and taxes are the only two guarantees in life! Personally I believe there is also a third, it is guaranteed that people will cheat on their taxes. With tax season underway another year of fraud, evasion and identity theft begins. Unfortunately there have been taxes since the beginning of time and they are never pleasant. Whenever people have to give up their money or belongings there will also be those who attempt to avoid it. The increase in these crimes can be attributed to a large out of touch Federal Government. Does that mean I am blaming the government for citizen tax fraud? OK maybe only half the blame, the U.S Federal Government is currently unaffordable in size and growth. It is no secret that the United States is 17 trillion dollars in debt, this is an astonishing number that will never be paid off. I understand why people are hesitant to give more money to this irresponsible and out of touch entity. American taxpayers have no assurance that their hard earned money is being spent the way they are told, and the government is too big to give such assurances. The bottom line is that people don't trust the government and especially not the IRS. The IRS is currently in the middle of a class action lawsuit filed by a number of conservative organizations that claim they were illegally targeted for auditing. It is very troubling when Federal power is used to frustrate and silence political opponents, aren't we supposed to be living in a civil society? Don't get me wrong, I am in no way trying to justify cheating on your taxes. Most of the fraud that goes on is probably done by criminals who don't want to do things the honest way and are looking for the easy money. However, in my opinion it is probably much easier to justify the crime when you are so distant and disconnected from the government to begin with. I think both parties are to blame in this mess. Tax fraud in the United States is a huge problem that won't change anytime soon. For the 2011 tax season the IRS identified approximately 1.5 million undetected tax returns with potentially fraudulent tax refunds totaling in excess of $5.2 billion. In 2010 the total financial loss attributed to identity theft totaled $13.2 billion. These numbers continues to grow every year. These are mind boggling amounts of money. -BDB

Time Well Spent

Our lives are all customized with a set amount of time. Time is our most precious resource because it is not renewable, as soon as our time is gone we die, it's that simple. Each person gets a different amount of time on earth but there is a catch, we don't know what the amount is. The way you choose to spend your amount of time is up to you as an individual. We must always remember that time continues to move forward no matter what. Some people choose to stay busy and balance as many activities as possible, where others will take the opposite approach and enjoy every minute in peace and quiet. There is no right or wrong answer. There is one similarity in all of our lives, they all go by fast. Everyone at some point wishes they had more time. Have you ever looked back at your life and wondered where all the time went? It would be impossible to figure out exact numbers unless you have been tracking since birth, we cant travel into the past to do that. However we can figure out averages, and doing that we get some interesting statistics. The average lifespan of Americans is around 78 years these figures were based on that age. - BDB
1) Sleeping- Given that an average a person sleeps for 8 hours in a day, that means that an average person will sleep for 229,961 hours or 26 years in their lifetime, basically one third of their life.
2) Eating- Eating is a necessary part of life that we must do in order to survive. A study done in the US said that an average American spends 67 minutes per day eating and drinking beverages. Summed up together, the average Joe spends a staggering 32,098 hours or 3.6 years eating and drinking beverages in their lifetime.
3) Driving- According to a study done by the Harvard Health Watch, an average American spends 101 minutes per day driving. That means that in a lifetime, an average Joe spends a whopping 37,935 hours or 4.3 years driving a car (assuming that s/he starts driving at 17 and drives until 78 years old). In that time, average Joe will drive around 798,000 miles.
4) Work- Work is a big part of our life and our biggest source of income, but how much time do we actually spend working? Let’s say that average Joe works 40 hours a week, from the age of 20-65 and gets two weeks of vacation every year. In that time, average Joe will have worked a total of 90,360 hours or 10 years of his life working for the man.
5) Surfing the Internet- study done in 2010 tells us that an average American spends 32 hours per month online. That totals 28,300 hours or 3.2 years in a lifetime.
6) Watching TV- Most of us love watching TV as a leisure activity. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics the average American watched TV for 2.8 hours per day, accounting, on average, for around half of their leisure time. That means an average person will watch over 9 years’ worth of TV, or around 80,486 hours.
7) Cleaning- According to this article, women will spend 12,896 hours or 1.4 years in their lifetime cleaning the home, which is almost one-and-a-half year of their lives. It may not be a huge surprise that men spend less time cleaning in their lifetime as compared to women. Men spend around half of that — or 6,448 hours or .7 years in their lifetime cleaning — and therefore, it’s probably fairly safe to say that women are the more hygienic sex.

The Red Disease

" Communism is a disease of the intellect. It promises universal brotherhood, peace and prosperity to lure humanitarians and idealists into participating in a conspiracy which gains power through deceit and deception and stays in power with brute force" author John Stormer. Historically the color red has been associated with communism, red signifies blood, sacrifice and revolution. Red communism will never go away completely because there will always be people who believe in it. Communism has been proven to not work, its been tried and tried and tried again. What is communism, and why won't it work? Communism is defined as: A classless, moneyless, stateless social order structured upon common ownership of the means of production, as well as social, political and economic ideas that aim at the same goal. To many this sounds like a great idea. A goal that aims to make everything equal and fair, what's wrong with that? Personally speaking I think it sounds horrible, everyone being the same, that's no fun. Communism is closely related to "fascism" and "socialism" these are ideas that always look good on paper, but never actually work because human nature won't allow it. America is getting eerily close to embracing communism, socialized health care, rights to illegal immigrants and group of "elite" making decisions for us. Communism is like a disease and must be stopped. Here are ten reasons why communism didn't work in the past and never will.
1.) There was no such thing as private property.
2.) It robbed people of ambition and therefore the drive to work harder.
3.) Corruption was so high that you couldn't even achieve some of the most simple things without a bribe.
4.) Groceries were very hard to come by. People had to stand in line for hours to get a loaf of bread, oranges, bananas, toilet paper, etc.
5.) Students were often required to work the fields when they didn't have to be at school.
6.) Big housing complexes arose around the country and they literally all looked the same.
7.) Most people had to raise animals and plant their own gardens to supplement their food to survive.
8.) People were being spied on openly.
9.) Athletes were forced to be the best to represent the greatness and superiority of Communism.
10.) The entire system collapsed when the government went bankrupt, this will always happen.
Communism is the exact opposite of the original intent of the United States. We are built on a free market of ideas and private property rights. America is designed to give superiority to the individual, not the common good. It is very troubling that in this day and age there are still people who believe this kind of system could work. Communism is one of the greatest hoaxes ever pulled on mankind. -BDB

Ocean of Secrets

Are we being told everything we need to know about the Fukushima nuclear meltdown in Japan? According to some recent news reports that answer is NO. The American citizens are getting better at seeing through the lies and cover ups of the mainstream, government run media. We should be thankful for the "alternative" media and the increasing number of "citizen" journalists exposing the secrets. This all stems from a catastrophic failure at the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant on 11 March 2011. The failure occurred when the plant was hit by the tsunami triggered by the Tōhoku earthquake; the plant began releasing substantial amounts of radioactive materials beginning on 12 March. Now, almost three years later concerns over radioactive materials hitting the west coast of the United States are at an all time high .As an obvious non-scientist, it remains difficult to know the true threat posed by the Fukushima nuclear meltdown. Opinion seems to be polarized, with some saying it represents a dire threat to humanity while others, mainly those in positions of authority, downplaying the issue as completely harmless. The Japanese Government has already been on record for years publicly minimizing the amount of radiation that was released. Our government and more specifically the EPA, will no doubt continue to do the same thing. The EPA’s horrendous role in lying to the American people and tens of thousands of ground zero workers in the weeks after 9/11, telling them that asbestos-laden air was safe to breathe, has also created an environment of distrust when it comes to public health concerns. The best thing to do if you live anywhere on or around the west coast is to take matters into your own hands and investigate, buy or rent a Geiger counter and see for yourself if your area is potentially harmful. According to Infowars.com, El Granada electrical engineer Steven Weiss, a 40 year veteran designer of Geiger counters, took his own measurements and found hot spots that were returning levels 14 times normal background radiation. Unfortunately with radiation only time will tell what the full effects will be, most likely years to decades. Whatever the official stance of the U.S government is always stay skeptical and question everything. - BDB

Expected Standard

Do we expect politicians to be perfect? Not perfect, because perfect doesn't exist, how about just honest. Should we hold our elected officials to a higher standard than everyone else? Maybe not a higher standard, but how about the same standard. Its not a higher standard to expect someone to do their job. If I lie to my boss I will be fired. Its not a higher standard to hold them to the same standards as a friend or family member. We should expect honesty from everyone anyway. It shows a lot about a person when they lie about themselves. If they lie about their own finances, they will also lie about yours when they have your money.

The United States Government is set up to give power to the people, not special people, but average people. The average person has problems in life. If you have problems in your personal life, should that disqualify you from representing the people in the U.S Congress or State Government? Not if you are honest about those problems. If you went through a messy divorce or you are a recovering alcoholic, be honest about it. Let the voters know the truth and let them decide. It is much worse to have the voters find out a lie through the grapevine. In a perfect world your personal life wouldn't be open to the public, unfortunately this is not a perfect world. When you run for office your life will become an open book.
We should expect honesty and transparency, that's not asking much. In fact it would show incredible character to come clean about a troubled past. Would you vote for an ex drug addict? I would, as long as he/she was honest about it. It is the man/woman that has no baggage and no problems that I wouldn't vote for. It is much more suspicious when someone has not had hard times. I would rather vote for someone who has faced problems head on. Someone without shame of who they are. A fighter who has overcome adversity and defeat the odds, what better person to help fix our country. If someone can't be honest to the public about who they are, they shouldn't get our vote.-BDB (Google Images)

Shrinking Language

I don't know about other countries, but here in America our English language and vocabulary are slowly shrinking. By some counts English has the most words of any language, I can learn a new word everyday for the rest of my life and still not know all of them. Society has undergone an incredible transformation over the past 30 years or so. We now live in the digital age where people don't talk or write anymore, instead choosing to communicate with e-mails, text messages, and social media. We are so dependant on technology that our grade schools have started to phase out penmanship. Writing cursive used to be a requirement in schools, now the young generations just abbreviate everything. I don't know if anyone 30 years ago could have predicted that we would ever start communicating with sounds and letters instead of words. This has no doubt grown out of a culture of impatience. Anyone born after 1980 has not had to wait for anything. Computers, microwaves and cable t.v gave us quick access to the world. So fast that society has now become unable to wait for anything. We can't wait in line at the store or at a red light without getting frustrated and bored. This is shown in our digital communications, we no longer take the time to type full words much less sentences. We now use slang words and acronyms as often as we can. The acronyms are funny to me because some of the letters take just as long to say as the words themselves. For example, OMG stands for "Oh My God", and BRB stands for "Be Right Back", letters may be faster to type but not always faster to say. Notice that both phrases uses the same amount of syllables as their letter counter part. Our language seems to be getting condensed to save time and space, leaving me with questions. Are we being efficient or lazy? Where does it end? Are we unlearning English? Reading is one of the best activities you can do for your brain, hopefully we will at least continue to embrace a standard in books and magazines. I cant imagine reading a novel that replaced "I love you" with "luv u" how long before these abbreviations end up commonplace in books and magazines? At this rate we will be left with only the alphabet again, then it won't be long before we are back to using primitive grunts and ticks to communicate. - BDB (Google Images)

If God Was Real

If God was real, I predict he would have messengers on earth who would teach the world about his nature and why we are here. If God was real, I predict that the universe and everything in it would have incredible complexity and organization. If God was real, I predict he would be hard for us to understand. If God was real, I predict he would come to earth and teach us how to live. If God was real, I predict he would want us to love each other. If God was real, I predict he would be loving and forgiving for anything we have done that offended him. If God was real, I predict there would be consequences for our actions. If God was real, I predict he would give us a written history of why and how he created us so we could pass it on to all generations. If God was real, I predict he would give us a chance to know him. If God was real, I predict there would be places we could go to thank and praise him.  If God was real, I predict he would want us to call him father. If God was real, I predict life would have purpose and meaning.- BDB (Google Images)

Hemp Exposed

With this story I am not advocating drug use of any kind, but making the point that things aren't always what they seem. Why is one of the most useful plants in the world illegal? The plant is hemp, it can be grown in virtually any soil, requires no pesticides, needs minimal supervision and could replace many environmentally harmful products on the market. The reason its illegal, like many things in life comes down to money and politics. If you've ever heard of hemp chances are you believe hemp and marijuana are the same thing, most people do. The truth is there are differences between the two. They are both a different variety of the same plant. "Hemp" is a commonly used term for the tall growing Cannabis plant. Hemp is broken down into fiber, oil and seeds, its uses are virtually endless. Hemp is refined into rope, paper, wax, oil, cloth, and fuel. Despite its usefulness and THC level being too low to abuse, hemp is still heavily regulated to outright illegal in most countries. "Marijuana" on the other hand is a commonly used term to describe the herb Cannabis Sativa. This variant of the same plant is typically lower hanging and contains more THC. For centuries marijuana had been used as food, clothing, and medication, at one point it was prescribed by physicians for more than 100 separate illnesses and diseases. So why did everything change? How did hemp and marijuana both become such a problem, and why are they illegal? Let me start by saying that it is no accident that most of the public confuses the two species of plant, this is all by design. Marijuana has been demonized over the past one hundred years because it contains a mind altering substance, however that's not why it is illegal. Marijuana was made illegal because hemp was made illegal, let me explain. Up until 1883, 90% of all paper was made from hemp. The problem was that hemp was difficult to harvest in mass quantities. In the 1930's the automated harvester was developed, but by this time industries had moved in and replaced hemp. These industries had a lot of influence and deep pockets. They now had a vested interest in making hemp illegal. The United States was the first country to introduce laws to destroy hemp plants, regardless of their intended use. That law was the result of political pressure exerted by the forestry industry and the Dupont corporation, which had just patented oil and coal based plastics production. A scare campaign was whipped up and articles started to appear in magazines and news papers claiming that marijuana "distorts moral values and leads to degrading sexual excesses". It was brilliant, create a campaign that deceived the public by purposely referring to both as the same species of plant. From this point on, the public would associate hemp with drug use. It's the oldest trick in the book and it still works on us today. We will fall for anything if it is hidden in our safety. -BDB
